The one thing I hate about this time of the year is having to decorate the house for Christmas. It's not putting up the tree or hanging the stockings that gets on my nerves... it's having to get up on the roof to put up the Christmas lights. I absolutely hate heights!
Today is dedicated to completing this dreaded task as we welcome the beginning of the Christmas season at the Watson home. To celebrate, I'll have to open something festive... something that really gets me in the mood for the Holiday. I may even need to open it BEFORE I get on the roof, just to take the edge off, of course! But what should I open?
What type/bottle of wine gets you in the mood to celebrate?
Tomorrow, I'll post pics of the completed house decorations as well as what I drank... unless I fall OFF of the roof and am unable to type because of the full-body cast.
Cheers!

I watched Clark Griswald put up his house lights last night on National Lampoon's Xmas Vacation. It is a holiday tradition to watch it just after Thanksgiving. Glad that your own efforts were more successful than Clark.
A Cava still puts me in a festive mood. But any hedonistic wine can do it too, like a silky Pinot or voluptuous Monastrell.
LOL! I absolutely love all of the Griswald Lampoons movies! I didn't use quite as many lights as he did... may not have been as impressive, but at least it lit up without shutting down the entire power grid to the neighborhood! :)
I went with the silky Pinot tonight! What's a Monastrell like? Sounds seductive!
Cheers!
Richard beat me to it. We also watched Clark Griswald in Christmas vacation, actually from Wed - Fri we watched all four Chevy Chase vacation movies. We are saving a Mark Ryan Long Haul (Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot blend for Christmas Eve). Waiting expectantly!
LOL! I love those movies, I can't believe I missed 'em last week! :) "Look kids Big Ben, Parliament!"
That sounds like a nice warming blend for Christmas Eve... how long have you been holding onto it?
Cheers!
